USD 457 Board of Education Meeting Recap August 28, 2025

Garden City Public Schools Board of Education met on Thursday, August 28, 2025.  The meeting was held at the Educational Support Center Board Room, 1205 Fleming Street. 

The Board conducted a Revenue Neutral Rate public hearing at 5:00 p.m. for the adoption of the Resolution to Exceed the Revenue Neutral Tax Rate.  The Board approved the resolution. 

The Board conducted a budget hearing at 5:05 p.m. for the adoption of the 2025-2026 budget.

The Board approved the following items during the meeting. They include minutes of the August 11, 2025, regular meeting. Accounts Payable with all major accounts containing adequate balances to meet current obligations. Personnel certified and classified actions. The Audiology Services agreement between the district and Common Spirit Siena Medical Audiology Clinic for the 2025-26 school year.

Under unfinished business, the Board approved the Resolution to adopt the Local Option Budget Percentage for the 2025-2026 school year. The Board approved the budget for the 2025-2026 school year.

The next meeting of the Board of Education will be Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming Street.
