Scott City wrestling opens up with a dual sweep of Goodland

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The season opener for the Scott City wrestling team was a good one on Thursday night inside the Scott Communtity Events Center, as the boys and girls hosted Goodland on the mat.

It was a dominant win for the Scott City boys, as they won nine of 11 head to head matches in a 60-17 win, while the Lady Beavers took four of the seven head to head matches.

Scott City will see their girls go to the Christmas City Classic in WaKeeney Friday afternoon at 3 pm, and the boys will also be at the Christmas City Classic on Saturday. Goodland’s girls will compete in WaKeeney on Friday and at the Gabel/Jenkins Invitational on Saturday in St. Francis.
