Barbara Ann Richmeier, 71 of Garden City died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born December 30, 1941 in Salina, Kansas.

As a child, Barbara moved with her family to Golden, Colorado during WWII. They later moved to Garden City, Kansas and Barbara has lived in Garden City since. A homemaker, Barbara also worked for many years at Southwestern Bell and Pacific Bell. Later in life, she worked in retail at Little Women in downtown Garden City. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Garden City and a past member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed visiting with people, shopping, and she loved to spend time with her family and friends.

On February 20, 1960, she married Marvin J. Richmeier in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include her three children Michelle & husband Chris Law of Garden City, Michael & wife Susan Richmeier of Garden City, and Mark & wife Dana Richmeier of Holcomb, Kansas; and seven grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Howard Jones and Hazel Kinsman Jones Roenfeldt.

The family requests memorials given to the Finney County Historical Society or to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo both in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.

Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Reginald A. Urban as Celebrant.

Interment: Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City.
