Colby, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-When Coach Harvey Sanders asked for the gym to be open at 5 a.m. the day after an error-riddled loss to Seward County, it wasn’t to sing Kumbaya.

The message: Accountability. His girls got the message.

And although they fell short to conference-leader Colby in four sets 25-14, 23, 25, 25-9, 25-18 Wednesday night, the-morning get together seemed to clean up a lot of the mistakes.

“We battled well tonight,” Sanders said after the match. “They’re just a great volleyball team.”

Sophomore Taylor Winchester led the way with nine kills for the Busters who dropped to 3-12 overall and 2-5. Colby improved to 6-0 in the Jayhawk.

Next up: Wednesday, October 2 at Pratt; 6:30 p.m.

Notes: Pratt was forced to forfeit their August 28 win over Garden City because the Beavers certified too many players (16) then the amount allowed (15). The originally won the match 23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-13.
