Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) – The 2012 Garden City Buffalo Soccer season was one of the best in recent years, as they finished at 15-3-0 and collected the Western Athletic Conference Championship. The Buffaloes were making a run at a possible State berth, but ran into a very good Derby team in the South Central Regional Championship match-up at Buffalo Stadium. It was a double overtime triller with the Panthers coming out on top 4-3. Sophomore Erik Barragan scored all three of the Buffalo goals unassisted, Coach Joaquin says, the sophomore Barragan has really been a leader in so many ways for this team and is a great offensive player. However, their are a number of seniors on this team that have played together for several years and developed into a quality soccer team over these past three years. Buffalo Head Coach Joaquin Padilla talks about the season, the WAC title and his seniors, plus expectations for next year.
