Tough Friday for Garden City CC Rodeo
Caspar, WY (westernkansasnews.com)–It was a tough day for Garden City Community College’s Emily Miller on Friday at the College National Finals Rodeo in Caspar, WY. Miller finished fourth & third in the first two rounds earlier in the week in the Barrel Racing competition. She finished 47th on Friday, knocking her out of the short go on Saturday. Miller posted times of 14.27 in the first round and 14.07 in the second, but a 21.1 in the third round dropped her down to 33rd place. She also missed the cut for the short go in the goat tying event. After a no score in round one, Miller bounced back with times of 7.3 and 6.9 in the final two rounds to finish 39th. Mercedes Trenary also missed the cut in the goat tying. Trenary had times of 7.7, 7.9 and 8.0 seconds, finishing 19th, seven spots out of qualifying for the short go.
As a team, Garden City finished 18th out of 38 with 110 points. Texas Tech University won the Women’s division with 423.3 points.
