Winter Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory for the area

Along with artic air that has moved in to the area, snow is expected across most of southwest Kansas through Wednesday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for northern portions of the area 12 pm today to 6 pm Wednesday, while the remaining part of the area is in a Winter Weather Advisory from 12 pm today to 6 pm Wednesday. Widespread snow is expected to develop tonight, and become heavy at times through Wednesday morning, with snowfall over four inches could fall in areas where the Winter Storm Warning is issued.

Temperatures will be well below freezing for the high over the next few days, as cold wind chills are expected tonight and Wednesday night.
