Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrest 3 on traffic stop

Hamilton County, Kan.–The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals from Colorado after a traffic stop Saturday evening just after 5 pm.
The traffic stop was on a vehicle at the intersection of E. Avenue E and N. Johnson Street in Syracuse. A K9 dog alerted to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and there was 44 Grams of Methamphetamine, 33 Grams of Cocaine, 215 Fentynal Pills, and over $5,000 of U.S. Currency was located.
Three occupants in the vehicle were arrested and charged, inlcluding 60-year-old Tony Jiron, 60 La Junta, Colorado. He was charged with two counts of Distribution of opiate; 3.5 – < 100 grams in 1000’ of a school, Distribution of material containing Fentanyl, Possession of drug paraphernalia, No drug tax stamp, Driving while Suspended, and Unlawful use of driver’s license. Forty-four year-old William Dunagan Lamar, Colorado was arrested and charged with Possesion of opiates and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Also arrested was 39-year-old Ashley Romero of La Junta, Colorado, charged for Possesion of opiates and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
In the release, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks, and reminds everyone that all suspects are innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
