Royals outlast Cardinals in extra innings

St. Louis (westernkansasnews.com)–After Billy Butler hit a pinch-hit home run with two outs in the ninth to tie the game, Yuniesky Betancourt hit a two-run homer in the 15th inning to give the Kansas City Royals the win Sunday afternoon 5-3 over the St. Louis Cardinals in the latest I-70 Series. Jonathan Broxton blew a save opportunity in the 14th inning, and ended up getting the win. The Royals are looking to keep their momentum going tonight in Houston as they begin a three-game series with the Astros. KC will start Jonathan Sanchez on the hill, while Houston sends J.A. Happ to the mound in a 7:05 start at Minute Maid Park in Houston. They have won five out of their last six games, and are only five games out of first place in the AL Central.
