Vancleave inks LOI with Kansas baseball

Holcomb, KS-All throughout his career as a multi-sport athlete, Holcomb pitcher Connor VanCleave knew exactly what he wanted to do.

It was baseball that was calling, and on Wednesday, the senior hurler finally put pen to paper.

VanCleave signed a national letter of intent to play baseball for Kansas.

“I want to thank everyone at Kansas and this community for supporting me the whole way through,” VanCleave said. “This is an awesome opportunity.”

VanCleave has more than earned his shot.

The senior is 26-4 as a starter on the mound and a .500 hitter. And oh yeah, his 6-7 frame is more intimidating than Randy Johnson.

Other schools that showed interest were Garden Community College, Appalachian State in North Carolina, Fort Hays State and Emporia State.
