Great West Activities Conference announces all-league basketball selections
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Great West Activities Conference has announced their selections for the girls and boys all-league honors.
Starting off with the girls, Hugoton would have three first-team selections in Summya Adigun, Mikyn Hamlin and Gianna Vos, while Cimarron’s McKayla Miller was named to the first team. Goodland would have four total selections, while Cimarron and Hugoton each had three, and Colby, Holcomb and Scott City had two. The Cowgirls would win the GWAC, as well as the Class 3A State Championship, and Hugoton was the third place finisher in Class 4A.
On the boys side, three area selections were named to the first team. Hugoton’s Carson Bennett and Ryle Riddlesperger, along with Scott City’s Jackson Rumford were selected to the first team. The Eagles had five overall selections, while Colby and Holcomb had four, Goodland and Scott City had three, Ulysses with two selections and Cimarron had one pick. Hugoton was the GWAC champion, and won the Class 4A State Championship, while Colby was a Class 3A state quarterfinalist.
