Dodge City Regional Airport Set for Major Expansion and Remodel

Dodge City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The City of Dodge City is thrilled to announce that the bid for the expansion and remodel of the Dodge City Regional Airport Terminal has been awarded to Icon Structures of Wichita.

This expansion is a testament to the efforts and vision of our Commissioner’s leadership, coupled with significant federal support. In March of 2023, the Dodge City Regional Airport was awarded $7.3 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to go towards remodeling and expanding the existing terminal. This funding stems from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Airport Terminal Program (ATP) Grant.

“The remodel and expansion are not just a testament to the potential of Dodge City’s Regional Airport but also a recognition of the pivotal role it plays in connecting Southwest Kansas with the world. With the expansion, we envision a brighter and busier future for Dodge City, propelling our local economy and enhancing the passenger experience,” said Mayor Michael Burns.

“The Dodge City Regional Airport will continue to uphold the promise to connect the Wild West to the World through quality flights and a top-of-the-line facility.” Said City Manager Nick Hernandez.
The commencement date for the project will be announced soon, with regular updates to be provided to the public.
