Iowa woman dies in head-on crash in Morton County

Morton County, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–An Iowa woman died in a head-on crash Monday afternoon in Morton County, at around 1:15 pm.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Report, a 2011 Ford F150 driven by 35-year-old Amanda K Vanzant of Elkhart was easbound on US Highway 56, when she struck a patch of ice and went left of center, striking a 2018 GMC Terrain head on driven by 32-year-old Emily Panther of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 

Vanzant, along with Emily Panther and passenger in the GMC Terrain, 33-year-old Jared A. Leppert of Milwaukee, were taken to Morton County Hospital for their injuries. They were wearing seatbelts according to the KHP report.

Passenger in the Panther vehicle, 64-year-old Loretta M Panther of Iowa City, Iowa, was prounounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a setbelt.
