Scott City wrestling sweeps duals in Oakley

Oakley, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–As teams inch closer to the postseason, Scott City and Oakley met up on the mat on Thursday night at Oakley High School for a girls and boys dual. Both Beaver squads would take wins, as the Lady Beavers won 36-33, and the boys took the finale 49-18.

The girls dual featured seven matches, as Oakley would win four of the seven matches. All of Soctt City’s wins came by fall, which proved to be the difference in the dual.

On the boys side, the Beavers would win eight of the ten head to head matches, with three of them by tech fall. Both of Oakley’s head to head wins were by fall.

Scott City heads to the GWAC Tournament in Ulysses on Friday, while Oakley will compete in the Phillipsburg Panther Classic, with the girls taking the mat on Friday and the boys on Saturday.
