Hoisington girls, Great Bend boys win Hoisington Corner Classic tournament titles

Hoisington, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–In their final competiton before the Christmas break, Hoisington would host a boys and girls wrestling Tournament on Friday inside the Hoisington Activity Center. The Lady Cardinals would take the girls title, while Great Bend brought home the boys team championship.

For the girls, Hoisington defeated Liberal by 2.5 points, while Scott City was third. The Lady Beavers got a championship from Haylie McDaniel at 110 and Amya Parker at 120. Holcomb was sixth, as Amya Caro was the tournament champion at 145 pounds. Cimarron was ninth, with Peyton Smith taking the 235-pound weight division.

On the boys side, Great Bend outlasted Concordia by 37.5 points, while Cimarron was third. The Bluejays got tournament titles from Reed Moore at 106 and McCoy Nash at 150. Holcomb was fifth, as they got tournament titles from Angelo Otero at 120 and Haegen Hartman at 138.
