Garden City man arrested following Christmas morning DUI

Arrest-1

Garden City, Kan.–A Garden City man found himself in jail following a Christmas morning DUI arrest.

Around 7:15 a.m. Thursday morning Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Ballinger Street and made contact with 28-year-old Erik Rodriguez. The investigation revealed Rodriguez was driving under the influence and had struck a fence and other parts of a nearby property before leaving the scene. Rodriguez was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail for DUI, Hit and Run, and No Proof of Insurance.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but impaired driving is a serious risk.

Now through January 2, the GCPD joins law enforcement agencies across the state in the Taking Down DUI campaign, aimed at reducing impaired driving incidents during the New Year’s holiday. Together, we can keep our roads safe – plan ahead, drive sober, and make sure everyone gets home safely.
