Busters Slug it Out With Clarendon Texas for 11-7 Victory

Clarendon, TX (www.westernkansasnews.com) – For the past two days the Garden City Buster Baseball team has been on the road yielding a split over those two outings, losing 4-3 to No 5 Lamar on Tuesday and then Wednesday at Clarendon Texas, the busters got the bats going down the stretch to beat the Bulldogs 11-7. Garden City jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a couple of RBI singles by Alex Buechler and Nolan Barrientos, the Bulldogs answered to tie the game at 2-2. From that point the Busters took control with RBI singles from Kevin Czarnecki, Trevor Bell and Mason Fischer to take a 5-2 lead. Clarendon would respond with couple of runs as well and draw within one at 5-4, but that point it was all the Busters Bats picking up six more runs, as Tyler Alitz would produce an in the park homerun to help propel the Busters to their 12 victory on the season against 13 losses. The Busters will return to Jayhawk Conference action on Friday hosting Seward County in a double header at 3:00 and 5:00 pm. The games were moved up a day due to the possibility of inclement weather on the weekend, so the final two games of series will be announced later.
