Dodge City Golf wins region championship

The Dodge City high school golf team came out on top in the regional championship with a team score of 305, beating runner-up Maize by 17 strokes on Monday at Mariah Hills.

The Demons were led by Aidan Robinson who placed third with a 72 behind a 71 from Garden City’s Maddix Shook and a 69 from Maize’s Kobe Jackson.

The team championship chances were given a boost by the Demons occupying 5th through 7th places. AJ Peters (75), Jackson Taylor (78) and Rase Smith (80). Full results from the regional tournament can be found here.

Next week the Demons will head to state on May 27 and 28 in Winfield at Quail Ridge Golf Course.
