Hays, Ks (westernkansasnews)-For all the superlatives: winners of seven out of their last 10; better offensive production following a 2-8 start; better pitching; all of it still can’t seem to solve Dodge City’s road problems. The A’s falling to 2-7 away from home after a 7-1 loss to Hays Tuesday night.

The Athletics hanging in until the 4th; that’s when the Larks went to work. After Desmond Roberts stole second-Jake Placzek drove him in with a run-scoring single giving the Larks a 1-0 lead.

Hays would add to that tally in the 5th when Roberts drilled a two-run double to the gap capping of a three-run inning. Hays plated two more runs in the 6th and one in the 7th.

The A’s lone score came in the top of 6th on Zach Jacobs RBI single. After that, Larks pitching retired the final 10 Dodge City hitters.
