More Dust Storm Caused Accidents; One Man From Great Bend Dies

Great Bend, KS (westernkansasnews.com)  The Kansas Highway Patrol says blowing dust caused a low visibility accident Monday on US 56 that killed a man from Great Bend seven miles west of town.  Troopers identified 30 year old Brandon Stein as the fatality victim for failing to see a tractor trailer that pull off to the side of the road.  Transportation officials had to close the highway for a short time from Great Bend to Pawnee Rock.

A two car accident occurred Sunday afternoon shortly after 2:30 in Haskell County from low visibilities caused by a dust storm on US 83 three miles north of US 160.  The accident involved 19 year old Ashlee Gaspard of Ulysses, 26 year old Cayla Tomlinson of Healy and her 20 year old passenger Casey Tomlinson of Rolla.  All three were taken to Haskell County hospital for their injuries.
