Meyer Selected As 25-26 Southwest District FFA Sentinel

Scott City Kan.–The Southwest District FFA selected Kamryn Meyer, a Junior at Scott Community High School to serve as the Sentinel for 2025-2026. Meyer is one of six Southwest District FFA members who will serve on the District Officer Team. The team was announced at the Southwest District FFA Banquet on April 14, 2025 in Ingalls. 

District FFA Officers will serve as representatives of Southwest Kansas FFA Chapters at the local, district, and state levels. They will be responsible for facilitating and attending activities that inform, motivate and inspire FFA members, advisors, alumni and others to achieve the mission, strategies and core goals of the organization.

Meyer was selected by a nominating committee of FFA Advisors and Members.Students were required to submit a resume, an application, and interview with the nominating committee. 20 students across Southwest Kansas applied for the six positions. 

Mr. Nick Noterman, the Scott City FFA Chapter Advisor is excited for Meyer and the opportunities she will have as a District FFA Officer. “Kamryn has worked hard to earn her spot on the District FFA Officer Team. Our chapter is proud to have her as a representative of Scott City and the Southwest District.” 

Meyer is the daughter of Jessika and Danny Koons. She currently serves as the Scott City FFA Chapter President, Junior Class President, Scott County 4-H Ambassador Treasurer, and Country Cousins 4-H Club Secretary. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and the Varsity Cheerleading Squad.
