Rumford to represent Scott City in Saturday’s Shrine Bowl

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–For the second time in the Shrine Bowl’s history, Dodge City will be the host for the annual Kansas Shrine Bowl. Both times, Scott City has a member of the West team when it has been in Dodge City.
Jackson Rumford will be the 32nd Beaver alum to participate in Saturday’s Kansas Shrine Bowl at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City. This year is the 52nd annual event that will kick off at 7:05 pm.
Rumford is the first player from Scott City to be on the West team since 2023, when Jace Thomas was a member of the West squad.
As a three-year starter for the Beavers football team, Rumford would tally 85 tackles, four tackles for loss, five sacks and record three fumble recoveries defensively. Offensively, he had 27 receptions for 402 yards and two touchdowns on a team that finished 8-2 in 2024. Rumford earned GWAC First Team Tight End and First Team Defensive End honors, and also was selected as Class 3A All State First Team Defensive End. His freshman year, he completed one pass for seven yards.
Rumford will wear No. 9 and is slated to play on the Defensive Line and Kick, according to the Shrine Bowl Roster released.
