Scott City golf wins home tournmaent title

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Friday’s weather wasn’t ideal for a golf tournament, but the golfers were able to work through the cold and sometimes drizzly elements at the Scott City Golf Course at the Scott City Invitational. The meet also served as the second round of the GWAC Golf standings.
Scott City would put together a complete round and take their first tournament title, as they were 18 shots better than runner-up Goodland, while Colby placed third.
Individually, Scott City’s Jackson Rumford is a three-time Scott City Invitational champion, firing a round of 72, while teammate Matthew Wheeler was second with a score of 75. Ulysses’ Saven Rosales was third and Holcomb’s Luke Thyne was fourth.
