Two resurfacing projects to begin along U.S. 50B in Garden City

Garden City, Kan.–The Kansas Department of Transportation plans to begin resurfacing U.S. 50B in Garden City from Towns Road west to Campus Drive and also south of the north junction of U.S. 83/ U.S. 400 south to Mary Street on Wednesday, May 21.
U.S. 50B will be reduced to single lane closures in both directions as work takes place on the 3.7-mile project areas. Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. U.S. 50B will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the contractor for the $1.7 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in June, weather permitting.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511.
