Ulysses Police arrest man after assault and robbery

Ulysses, Kan.–Just before 7 p.m. Monday, officers from the Ulysses Police Department reported an assault that occurred earlier in the day at 820 E. Oklahoma Ave. The incident invovled an 18-year-old female victim and a 25-year-old male suspect who was identified by the victim.

Officers were dispatched to the 1845 W. Oklahoma Ave just before 9:30 p.m. in reference to a robbery. During that incident, the same suspect who was identified by victims, allegedly threatened employees with an edged weapon and stole a case of beer before fleeing the area prior to law enforcement arriving on the scene.

An hour later, law enforcement located the 25-year-old suspect at 2524 Annie Drive in Ulysses. During the attempt to take the suspect into custody, the suspect resisted arrest but was ultimately apprehended without further incident and was transported to the Grant County correctional facility.

In a release from the Ulysses Police Department, the investigation remains ongoing. The identity of the suspect is not being released at this time, pending official charges being filed with the Grant County Attorney’s office.
