Broncbuster women take third at Districts; Griffiths finishes as Runner-up

Gering, NE (Garden City Community College Athletics) – Summer Griffiths took second and the Broncbuster women placed third at the 2025 Plains District Championships at Monument Shadows Golf Course. 

Dodge City won the tea title and North Idaho snagged the other automatic bid with a second-place finish. 

Griffiths had a three-stroke lead over Dodge City’s Gaemphuang Ketrahong, Central Wyoming’s Isabell Salas, and Priscilla Padilla from Otero after the first round. And she was in good position during Tuesday’s final round after she birdied 14 and 15. But she bogeyed the next two holes to finish 4-over for the day. She was plus-8 for the tournament. 

Fernanda Rodriguez tied for fourth place at -16 over after posting rounds of nine-over and plus-7. Brighdy Connors took 16th and Jerika Lopez was 23rd

The Broncbusters automatically qualified for the National Tournament, which they are hosting beginning on May 12th at Buffalo Dunes.
