Dodge City, Kan.–Two area athletes from southwest Kansas will represent their schools on the West team in the 52nd Annual Kanas Shrine Bowl on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City.

The two athletes from the area include Dodge City’s Jayden Amaro, who is wearing No. 6, and is slated to play at wide receiver, and Scott City’s Jackson Rumford, who will wear No. 9 and is listed as a defensive lineman and kicker.

It’s the second time that Dodge City has hosted the Kansas Shrine Bowl. In 2019, Memorial Stadium saw the West defeat the East 26-7, as Caleb Grill from Maize was the West MVP and the East MVP was Jack Roberts from Shawnee Mission South.

The West leads the all-time series 31-18, with two ties. Last year, the East picked up a 36-25 win in Emporia. In 2023, the West last won in Hays in a nailbiter 21-20.

Kickoff is set for 7 pm at Memorial Stadium. After this year, the next three seasons will be played at Welch Stadium in Emporia.
