Thanks to the recent rainfall across Kansas, the latest drought conditions have improved over the past week across the state of Kansas.
Most of southwest Kansas is free of any drought in numbers released on Thursday. Portions of Scott, Lakine, Ness, Finney, Hodgeman, Gove and Logan Counties are in the D0 stage, which is abnormally dry.
The weekend is slated to have hot and windy conditions, which could increase the intensity of the drought, as high temperatures through Sunday could reach triple digits, with southerly winds gusting in the 30-45 mph range. Harvest is expected to ramp up this weekend.
