Scott City boys wrestling 3rd, girls 10th in Lexington

Lexington, Neb. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Scott City wrestling teams made their annual trek to Lexington for the annual John Higgins Invitational, with the girls going on Friday and the boys on Saturday. Also the boys team had a dual with Lexington on Friday night.
The boys would have a good showing, as nine of the 12 wrestlers would place to lead the Beavers to a third place finish. Bennington would win the tournament. While Scott City had no finalists, they would get two third place finishes from Trenton Frank and Matthew Wheeler.
For the girls, it was a tough tournament, as the Lexington girls would win the tournament title, while Scott city would finish in 10th place. Four wrestlers would place for the Lady Beavers, as the highest placer would be Amya Parker with a fourth place finish.
Friday night’s boys dual saw Scott City dominate the dual, winning 52-23. The Beavers would win 10 of the 14 weight classes, including winning six by fall.
